Performance measurement involves qualitative or quantitative expression ofresults on selected indicators (benchmarks). The choice of appropriate indicators used for measuring and evaluating performance is extremely important аctivity in companies. This choice must be in accordance with planned strategies companies, which are designed to match to the competitive environment in which the company perates, thusinternal conditions and the type of business which the company deals with. The paper will be given to investigate the development and measurement of key performance indicators as a basis for effective business management.
