Abstract

The twentieth century was marked by international affirmation of human rights and freedom by adopting the Declaration on Universal Human Rights and Freedoms (1948) as well as two international covenants, which are represented by clarifying and operationalization the potential of these rights and freedoms. These documents are adopted by the Organization of the United Nations and they guarantee for the first time the world community individual political, economic and social rights of all human beings regardless of whether or not they are citizens of individual states. Starting from the global character, and above all global environmental problems and their solutions as well as the rights to the environment, the paper makes reference to international cooperation in protecting and improving the environment, ie. solving the environmental problems.
